YAWK Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Meka Bear Industries, Inc (“YAWK,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit www.yawk.fun (the “Site”) or use the YAWK app at app.yawk.fun (the “App”). YAWK is a community-powered live scoring platform for youth sports.

By using YAWK, you agree to this Policy and our Terms of Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you register, we collect your email address, phone number, and name. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email, and the provider's account identifier — nothing else.

Player information. As a Roster Pass holder, you add players to team rosters. For each player you add, you provide the player's name, jersey number, position, optional photo, and visibility setting. You may add yourself, your child, or another athlete you have authority to register.

Team and game information. Teams have a name, sport, season, and venue. During a game, scoring events (goals, assists, penalties, and similar) are recorded along with the user who reported each event and the users who confirmed it.

Household information. You may invite one household member (co-parent, spouse, or guardian). We collect their email address to send the invitation.

Payment information. Roster Passes are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store credit card numbers. We store the Stripe customer identifier and a record of which Roster Passes you hold.

Technical information. Our servers log IP address, browser type, request paths, and timestamps. We use this for security, debugging, and operating the Service.

We do not collect precise location data. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or behavioral tracking pixels.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information above to:

  • Create and maintain your account
  • Provide the YAWK Service: live scoring, stats, Roster Pass management, household sharing
  • Process Roster Pass payments through Stripe
  • Send transactional and service messages, including one-time login codes, payment receipts, household invitations, game recap emails, account and security alerts, and product updates about features available to your account
  • Detect abuse and secure the platform
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Improve the Service

We do not sell your information. We do not share your information with advertisers. We do not use your information, your children's information, or game content to train artificial intelligence models.

3. How We Share Information

We share information only with the following:

Service providers acting on our behalf, under contract, and only as needed to operate YAWK:

  • Amazon Web Services — hosting and storage
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Twilio — SMS one-time login codes
  • SendGrid — email delivery
  • Google— OAuth sign-in (if you choose Google login), Google Maps for venue selection in the App, Google reCAPTCHA for spam prevention on the Site's feedback form
  • Facebook (Meta) — OAuth sign-in (if you choose Facebook login)

Public display.Player names, photos, and stats are shown on the public www.yawk.fun website according to each player's visibility setting (see Section 4).

Legal. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of YAWK, our users, or the public.

Business transfer. If YAWK is acquired, merged, or transferred, information may move to the successor entity, subject to this Policy.

4. Player Visibility and Children's Privacy

YAWK is intended to be used by parents and legal guardians on behalf of youth athletes, who in many cases are children under 13. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Who can create an account.A parent or legal guardian must create the YAWK account that registers any child under 13. Athletes 14 and over may create their own YAWK accounts. By adding a player to a roster, you represent that you are the parent or legal guardian of that player, that the player is 14 or older, or that you have the parent's or guardian's permission. For players under 13, the Roster Pass mechanism — including any payment processed through Stripe — is the means by which we verify parental consent.

Visibility settings. For every player you add, you choose how that player appears on the public Site. Each setting can be toggled independently:

  • Show on public site— master switch. When OFF, the player's profile is not displayed on the public Site.
  • Show photo— controls whether the player's photo is shown on the public Site.
  • Show jersey number — controls whether the jersey number is shown on the public Site.
  • Name display— choose Full name, First name + last initial, or Hidden (the literal word “Hidden” is shown in place of the player's name).

You may change a player's visibility at any time. Changes take effect going forward and apply to existing displayed data.

Parental rights. As a parent, you can review information associated with players you have added, change visibility, and delete all data by deleting your account. To request anything else regarding a child's data, contact support@yawk.fun.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use the minimum cookies required to operate YAWK. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking pixels.

Strictly necessary, first-party cookies. When you sign in to the App, we set an HttpOnly session cookie that authenticates your requests. This cookie is required for the App to function.

Third-party cookies set during specific actions. The following third parties set their own cookies only when you actively use the related feature:

  • Google— when you click “Sign in with Google,” use the venue autocomplete in the App, or open the feedback widget on the Site (which loads Google reCAPTCHA)
  • Facebook (Meta)— when you click “Sign in with Facebook”

These cookies are governed by the third party's privacy policy. We do not control them.

6. Your Choices

Access and update. You can view and update your account information in the App at any time.

Delete your account. You can delete your account from the profile page in the App. When you delete your account, we promptly delete your account information, the players you added, your household membership, and game data attributed to you. Game records that include contributions from other users (for example, plays you reported in a shared game) may remain in the historical record in anonymized form.

Email preferences. You can unsubscribe from product update emails using the unsubscribe link in any such email. Strictly transactional messages — login codes, payment receipts, security alerts, household invitations, and game-related notifications for games you participate in — cannot be turned off because they are necessary to provide the Service.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information promptly, except for:

  • Records we are required to keep by law (for example, payment and tax records)
  • Information in routine encrypted backups, which is overwritten on the standard backup rotation

8. Security

We protect your information using:

  • TLS encryption in transit
  • Encryption at rest
  • HttpOnly session cookies (your authentication token cannot be read by JavaScript)
  • Limited employee access on a need-to-know basis
  • Industry-standard cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services)

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

We make best efforts to prevent automated scraping of public stats and player data, but we cannot guarantee that public data displayed on the Site will not be collected by third parties.

9. International Users

YAWK is operated from the United States. Information you provide is stored and processed in the United States. If you access YAWK from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States.

YAWK does not target users in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions outside the United States.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by prominent notice in the App before the changes take effect. Your continued use of YAWK after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
